A social innovation, enterprise, or entrepreneurship project? One or more graduate students enrolled with in the Social Justice Studies Practicum option at Lakehead University may be able to support your work over the course of a full school year.
The student, organization, and program director will collaborate on a Memorandum of Understanding in which deliverables are identified and agreed upon. These are graduate students and skilled knowledge workers; these students are social justice advocates. They will be available for approximately 10 hours a week from September until May. MOU Document

Project Examples
Students in this program are capable of doing a wide range of thing: interviewing stakeholders and community constituents, literature reviews, policy analysis, develop educational materials, event planning, community engagement work, and more. Their educational backgrounds are also varied: social sciences, humanities, education, and the arts.
Some areas of focus can include but are not limited to:
- Developing a diversity, equity, and inclusion plan for your organization.
- Conducing primary and secondary research and policy analysis relevant to your organization or causes.
- Creating a volunteer or advocate mobilization plan.
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Project MOU will identify additional commitments on the part of the organization, student, and program.
Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.
