The main goal for the project is to provide support and assistance to visiting Japanese students in both classroom and field trip experiences. This will involve several different steps for the students, including:


- Learning about the cultural differences and educational needs of Japanese students.


- Assisting teachers in preparing classroom materials and activities for the visiting students.


- Accompanying the students on field trips and providing guidance and support.


- Facilitating communication and interaction between the visiting students and their Canadian peers.


Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:


- Understanding of the cultural differences and educational needs of Japanese students.


- Ability to assist in preparing classroom materials and activities.


- Effective guidance and support for visiting students during field trips.


- Improved communication and interaction between visiting students and their Canadian peers.



Final deliverables should include


- A report summarizing the experiences and challenges encountered while working with the visiting Japanese students.


- Recommendations for future improvements in supporting visiting students.


Mentorship


Canada Stay can provide support and mentorship to Teaching Assistants (TAs) involved in the ELL culture experiences through various means. We would provide training, onsite support and regular check-ins.
