The Celeb Secrets editorial team is looking for multiple news and features writers to provide news coverage on CelebSecrets.com for our TV column! As a News & Features Writer, you will work with a dedicated editorial team to create original and informative articles that our audience demands, with the eye-catching aesthetic they crave. You'll also get to interview some of the biggest stars in television and all of your posts will be on your own permanent site archive that you will be able to use as a portfolio when applying for future positions.

Positions available: 2 (individual)

As a News and Features Writer - TV, your responsibilities will include:

  • Writing a minimum of 10 news stories per week (i.e. 2 per weekday)
  • Staying up to date on the latest news and trends in Television
  • Coordinating with Features Editors and Senior CS Editors for assignments and feedback
  • Conducting interviews with talent either over the phone, on Zoom on IG Live
  • Working with Social Media Coordinators and Directors to make sure their content is being published on our platforms

The best candidates should have the following qualities:

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and creative thinkers
  • Strong communication and writing skills; able to speak the language of our audience
  • Forward-thinking; stays on top of the latest cultural and digital trends
  • Obsessed with all-things TV
  • Basic understanding of our publishing platform, WordPress, G-Suite (Google Docs, Calendar, Sheets, etc)
  • Familiarity with Celeb Secrets brands' platforms and social media accounts
  • Curiosity for innovative products/platforms and willingness to implement creative ideas
  • Be available during normal work hours and willing to work evening and weeks when needed
  • Previous related work experience is encouraged
  • Note that this project is apart of Riipen's LevelUP Program and the candidate will receive a stipend at the completion of 80 hours.

This is a great project for students to prove their writing expertise to future employers, as the impact of their work on this project can be easily measured and communicated. Please make sure to include writing samples in your application.

Mentorship

Students will be working remotely on the project for 80 hours. They will be required to participate in meetings and conference calls via Google Meet or Zoom and they will report to a social media director. There will be a training process and the student will be in contact with their director and CEO on a daily basis, as they will be available to answer any questions and guide them through the project.
