Details

The main goal for the project is to design and implement a robust cybersecurity system for Door Face Panels. An energized door with interchangeable panels that carry SAMRT devices inside. Facial/voice recognition, NFC/RFID are selected technologies for The Door face systems.

This will involve conducting a comprehensive risk assessment to identify potential vulnerabilities and threats to the smart door system.

Deliverables
  1. Overall Security Objective:
  • Clearly state the overarching objective: To design and implement a robust cybersecurity system for Door Face Panels.
  1. Risk Assessment:
  • Conduct a comprehensive risk assessment to identify potential vulnerabilities and threats to the smart door system.
  1. Compliance Requirements:
  • Specify any legal or industry-specific compliance standards (e.g., data protection regulations) that the cybersecurity system must adhere to.
  1. Data Protection and Privacy:
  • Define goals related to safeguarding user data and ensuring privacy, outlining measures to comply with data protection laws.
  1. Access Control:
  • Establish goals for controlling and monitoring access to the smart door system, ensuring only authorized individuals have the appropriate permissions.
  1. Encryption Standards:
  • Specify encryption standards to be employed for data in transit and at rest, enhancing the overall security posture.
  1. Threat Detection and Response:
  • Set goals for implementing a threat detection system that can identify and respond to potential cybersecurity incidents in real-time.
  1. Secure Communication Protocols:
  • Define the use of secure communication protocols to prevent unauthorized access or tampering with data during transmission.
  1. Authentication Mechanisms:
  • Outline goals for robust user authentication mechanisms, ensuring that only authorized users can interact with the smart door system.
  1. Secure Software Development Practices:
  • Emphasize the adoption of secure coding practices during the development of software components to minimize vulnerabilities.
  1. Regular Security Audits:
  • Establish goals for conducting regular security audits and assessments to identify and address emerging threats or vulnerabilities.
  1. Incident Response Plan:
  • Develop and document an incident response plan, outlining the steps to be taken in the event of a cybersecurity incident.
  1. User Education and Training:
  • Include goals related to educating users about cybersecurity best practices and providing training on secure usage of the Door Face Panels.
  1. Integration with IoT Security Standards:
  • If applicable, set goals for integrating with established IoT security standards and best practices.
  1. Scalability and Future-Proofing:
  • Consider scalability and future-proofing measures to ensure that the cybersecurity system can adapt to evolving threats and technologies.
  1. Vendor Security Assurance:
  • If third-party components are involved, establish goals for ensuring the security of those components and vetting vendors for security practices.
  1. Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Set goals for continuous monitoring of the cybersecurity system's performance and the creation of regular reports to assess its effectiveness.

Door Face Panels is a fresh startup aiming to bring smart doors with interchangeable faces to the masses. The Door has just been patented and there are many IoT devices, creative patterns, user friendly APPs, insulation and useful utilities added to these doors. Prime target market is residential entrance doors but there are many more interior, commercial and institutional door applications for the DFP.
