Moms today have more challenges than ever - home school, virtual school, assignments, schedules, multiple children, play dates, sports, and what if they work? A generic iCalendar and even Outlook is not able to handle a busy parent’s needs, multiple to-do lists, deadlines, overlapping schedules, and what about work, shopping, cooking, cleaning, errands, etc.?

For all the calendar apps and add-ons out there, none is custom-made for today's challenged mom. And we have the mothers to test this theory. We are gonna need a better app AND a bigger boat!

We have a list of specific functions and needs for a really good add-on calendar, and this can be written using RESTful calls and client libraries for various programming languages (Java, PHP, .NET, JavaScript, NodeJs, Ruby, Python, Go, Android, iOS).

This is a software request to create a better iCal app, but can also connect to Google and Outlook.

• A schedule app where Mom can lay out every family member’s schedule as well as her own and choose to see the schedules together or separately, with day-, week- or month-view
• Each activity needs to be color blocked for easier reading at a glance.
• To-do list entries can be dragged and dropped into the full week-view of all or some family members, so there is an option when creating the calendar event as to WHO in the family (and it could be one or more persons) gets this on their schedule.
• Tasks automatically get removed from all calendars when checked “completed” by Mom. Mom gets a notice when someone checks off their task.
• Assignments… need to be attached to kids calendars as assignments “To DO” and also on the date they are due. Has to be a way to check off when they are completed without the assignments disappearing from the schedule. Different from “tasks.”
• Each calendar event has options of recurring and alarms, all day etc with notes option.
• Need to be able to see the entire week and all activities/events. Family members’ schedules can be stacked below Mom’s in a row.
• Monthly calendars need to be in a row as well - so Mom has the option of seeing her schedule and others, overlaid on top or separately below hers.
• How do we show in kids’ calendars where mom has to be involved - a flower or a color M or something?
• See ‘Class Timetable’ app for ideas on color blocks for kids’ class schedule.
• Link to zoom and contacts so a class/meeting can be scheduled straight from the main calendar and send invites automatically.
• When you create an event, have the ability to set a reminder with notes for ANY date.
• Reminders have alarms and there are several options for alarm sounds
