Details

Broad Project Areas Include (but are not limited to):

  1. Research most viable container-shipping client-exporters categories likely to be interested in our IoT testing-and-monitoring solution.
  2. Conduct a viability assessment regarding Exempler's idea to collaborate with a freight-forwarding company on the above concept (one of Exempler's principals has strong ties to freight-forwarder Savino Del Bene whose US Headquarters is in Avenel, NJ, very close to Rutgers' New Brunswick campus).
  3. Work with quantitative and qualitative information from Exempler's stakeholders (i.e., customers, suppliers, employees, regulators, community organizations, etc.) and supply network.
  4. Review industry reports and the latest research to help us better understand our industry position and future options.
  5. Deliver on-time, actionable recommendations.
  6. Effectively co-manage a client and/or prospective client relationship.
  7. Generate a high-quality report and presentation.

Specific Projects Could Include (but are not limited to):

  • Shipping-container testing-and-monitoring using Exempler's TestSecretary hub (tied to sensors that monitor temperature, humidity, geolocation, etc.)
  • Risk management models (should tie to data generated via the TestSecretary hub)
  • Forecasting supply risks (to buyers / retailers / OEMs / etc., should also tie to TestSecretary hub)
  • Assessment of disruptive logistics practices
  • TestSecretary as an e-commerce SaaS in a supply chain context

Potential Scope of Projects:

In addition to traditional supply chain elements, Exempler is interested in opportunities around the adoption and implementation of new digital technology (such as TestSecretary, our IoT testing-and-monitoring hub), regulatory change, shifting trade patterns, e-commerce, social and environmental responsibility, and the overall digital transformation of business processes. This project will allow student teams to analyze major decisions in several of these emerging areas.
