The VSE Career Centre is seeking students that are interested in event coordination and logistics. Our flagship event – the Annual BIE Discovery and Networking Night involves a range of diverse partners and BIE students from across all years of the program connecting with each other and learning more about potential paths available to BIE students. The event involves panels and partner booths where students will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn from others’ experiences and network with industry partners.
Students would have the opportunity to:
- Network with employers and partners to create a large, diverse guest list and track all attendees (employers and students)
- Organise a virtual event hosted on Hopin and create a guide for attendees
- Work with Marketing and Communications Coordinator to send out event related communications to students and partners
- Secure, organise, schedule and supervise volunteers for the event
We’re looking for someone like you if:
- You are passionate about process management, organisation, and logistics
- You are a critical thinker with an ability to solve problems on a timely basis and can work under pressure
- You are attuned to the needs of different partners and students and can tailor your communications accordingly
- You are patient and adaptable in teaching, able to guide others through event logistics and processes effectively
Qualifications:
- Insights to the diversity of career paths that BIE student alumni take
- Excellent writing and communications skills, particularly the ability to write clearly and professionally
- Intermediate knowledge of Mail Merge, virtual event management and the ability to learn new software quickly
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences through email, phone, text, and video conferencing
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
How will you support students in completing the project?
- Students will report directly to the VSE Career Centre Director
- Training, guidance, and mentorship will be provided by the Director and the VSE Career Centre Staff
