Fundraising Coordinator will work with the Fundraising Development team to identify, research, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, corporate and foundation gifts to support the mission of Autism Speaks Canada.

The Fundraising Development department plays an integral role in contributing to ASC fundraising efforts in Autism Speaks Canada seeks an intern to join us to support the work of our development team.

The fundraising development team manages all grants, major gifts, and corporate development fundraising efforts for Autism Speaks Canada, from identifying new prospective donors to cultivating and stewarding current donors. As the Fundraising Coordinator, you will support and gain experience in the day-to-day operations of non-profit fundraising, including donor and funder meeting preparation, prospect research, database, and donor pipeline management.

We are looking for someone who is a strong communicator, excellent attention to detail, takes initiative, is interested in learning about non-profit development, and has a passion for inclusion, diversity, equity, and access. You will report to the Senior Manager, Philanthropy. As an integral member of the Development team, you will support development team led projects, and self-led projects throughout your time as a valued team member of the ASC team.

Deliverables

Prepare thorough meeting briefings on donors and prospective funders

• Assist in maintenance of prospect pipeline database, identifying, researching, and qualifying prospective funders, including corporations, foundations, and individuals

• Donor prospecting and research

• Conduct stewardship and cultivation phone calls and emails

• Update constituent records and log actions in Raiser’s Edge NXT database

• Execute database clean-up projects

• Support various administrative and strategic tasks

Mentorship

The students will be supported by an experienced Sr. Manager of Philanthropy on a weekly basis through proper onboarding, weekly meetings (and daily check-ins when necessary).

They will also be able to access professional development courses in Raiser's Edge (fundraising CRM) and other fundraising tools.
