Details

Centre Solaris is a charitable organization that caters to low-income families. The organization has launched a program to increase sports participation for equity disadvantaged groups including women, girls, the disabled, and LGBTQ2I+.

We are looking for team members to explore and research social barriers for these groups to participate in sports in Canada and ways to remove those barriers. The project will include the following activities:

- Research on social barriers that prevent equity-deserving groups from participating in sports.

- Strategies to remove the barriers and increase sports participation.

We are looking for convincing and persuasive social research and strategy recommendations.

Deliverables

This project will involve:

  • Research on social issues and barriers for equity deserving groups to participate in sports.
  • Literature reviews of the existing studies on the subject matter.
  • Writing reports on specific topics, e.g. women in sports.

The final deliverables should take the form of:

  • A final report
  • 30 minute presentation


Students will be assigned a subtopic depending on the company's needs.

Mentorship

We will provide at least 5 hours of mentorship and supervision. Regular recap and goal-setting sessions with students will be conducted.
