About the company
UNO is a Youth-Led Non-Profit Organization that was created to provide a safe space for youth to feel welcome and wanted in a city where such spaces are hard to find. This was needed more than ever in our community as we are currently facing rapid gentrification and no place that served as a hub for the long standing members of lower income families in the community. We offer a variety of programs, workshops, and projects within our space dedicated to youth development.
We serve as a focal point for the community as a place to be and a town square of sorts where people of all backgrounds can feel at home without the feeling of being unwelcome, unwanted or neglected. The feeling of ostracization was becoming all too common and the disconnect between different generations of youth with shared experiences was felt. So the youth that lead UNO took a stand and created this safe space so that mentorship and togetherness that was once ever-present could be brought back in our community.
