To do this, we want to conduct research into the different global shipping methods, vendors, and strategies.
After researching and developing potential options for bettering our logistics, we ask that you create a PowerPoint presentation for the team about your findings. Any additional information you wish to include can be added in an appendix. Citations can be provided in the slide footnotes. If you are not a fan of presentations, or prefer written reports, you may also write a research summary. This can be done on Word, with citations provided in a bibliography!
This research and analysis will include:
- Analyzing various vendors (FedEx, Purolator, etc.) costs and packages
- Investigating materials for packaging to see which can keep products the coldest, most secure, and safest for international shipping
- Averaging shipping times and conditions to different countries around the world for products originating from Victoria, BC
- Brainstorming packaging designs that include our logo and safety information in a visually appealing way
- Anything else you find interesting and wish to include!
You will work directly with our business development manager and production team, and can arrange to meet as needed. You are welcomed to network with our team and seek advice or guidance from any member.
Before starting this project we will also give you a full overview of our company and product specifications to better guide your research. Our team will be here to support you if you have any technical or business related questions. We are a remote-first team, using Slack to communicate and Zoom for meetings as necessary. We will provide you with all of our current methods and research for you to expand upon, and a walkthrough of our current shipping process. We will also provide you with all of our existing data necessary to understand the current state of our logistics. We will support you at your own pace and provide more resources as necessary.
