To analyze the spread of electricity prizing in North America. Electricity rates can vary from place to place based on local utility and state/provincial policy. We intend to understand the pricing in US - Canada. Intention is to highlight where the prices are so low that having an EV would be highly beneficial

Data Collection and Forecasting

Project name: Data Collection and Forecasting Part 1: · Identify the data source: Solar, wind generation, New York state daily energy demand · Collect: Create scrapping tool to automatically download/copy data. · Process: Check data files for any errors or blank spaces and clean-up to make it ready to be stored in database · Store: Scrapping tool to save the improved data in the cloud database Part 2 · Forecasting: Define/build the data model(qualitative) preferably stochastic or neural · Predictive/Corrective analysis: Define corrective measures to correct the forecasting using historic data and past forecasting with the model. Part 3 · Create a report comparing the forecast and realized values. · Correct the model to achieve 90% accuracy for weekday and weekend data.

Mobile App/Web Development

We would like to create a new exciting mobile app involving green energy that would help the planet with climate change. This app will be developed using google's latest framework for hybrid apps - flutter and uses a new language dart. This would be a very good opportunity to add these new skills to your skillset and work on a clean-tech solution. Students would get mentorship on all aspects of mobile app development from an industry expert on the subject. We would like to collaborate with students to gather data for renewable generation and Electric Vehicle load and create predictive machine learning models in our organization. Through using open source data and applying analytics models, methodologies, and machine learning tools, we hope to get an end-to-end machine learning solution. Students should be prepared to: Identify and extract the data from various online sources and save in internal cloud data base. Develop a unique machine learning solution to make predictions. Create crone jobs(or similar) and data scrapping tools for daily copy, clean up data and create scripts to make daily reports.
