Project Examples

Requirements

Beginning this October, 5 students in groups of 1-3 will dedicate 300+ hours to develop a Data Analytics solution for your organization. They will use tools such as RDBMS or noSQL databases including mongoDB, Excel, and Tableau.

Based on your needs, students will either research OR implement an analytical solution for you.

Option 1: Research project

Students will research the challenge that you present to them and then compile a report that outlines the best course of action, including the reasoning behind that.

Examples:

  • Analyze business processes to determine the best candidate for implementing a Data Analytics project.
  • Determine what external factors affect business operations and the viable mitigating strategies.
  • Measure the impact of data-driven decision making by analyzing the performance of different business processes/departments.

Option 2: Implementation project

Students will either implement a pilot project or form part of an ongoing implementation project which has pre-existing clearly defined goals and deliverables.

Examples:

  • Build a dashboard for a department/audience.
  • Analyze data to find patterns or to prove/disprove a hypothesis.
  • Work as a part of a bigger implementation team to design/develop a Data Analytics solution.
