*Students are available between May 3 - August 12, 2021 and require will work 12 hours/week over the course of the 15 week period (maximum of 180 hours).
This practicum is for course credit and does not require compensation.
Learners
To be decided with the industry partner and academic internship coordinator. The student should complete a maximum of 180 hours with your organization.

Project Examples
Requirements
We have Douglas College students in the Marketing department looking for 15-week practicum opportunities. Students will have a variety of interests and backgrounds. Marketing students can complete the following core marketing functions:
- Discuss the importance of marketing to a business enterprise in terms of the development, pricing, promotion and distribution of its products and services.
- Analyze the effect that psychological, social and cultural factors have on consumer behaviour and how this influences marketing decision making.
- Develop a market research plan to analyze the business environment and consumer and business-to-business behaviour using appropriate primary and secondary data sources.
- Segment different target markets and successfully position products and services in these segments under varying competitive scenarios.
- Examine the financial implications of marketing decisions.
- Appraise different ethical concerns in marketing.
- Formulate marketing plans to address business problems and opportunities, both broadly and in a variety of specialized areas of marketing.
- Integrate appropriate marketing strategies to grow and sustain the value of an organization’s brands.
- Apply marketing principles in a professional capacity.
Project examples that students can complete may include, but are not limited to:
- Post COVID marketing plans
- Market Analysis (Could include volume, potential clients, potential growth)
- Competitive analysis (SWOT, client base, pricing)
- Social Media audit
- Strategic marketing plan

- Students will apply for Internship positions with employers whose projects are approved; students will have recently completed their second or third semesters of studies, and had extensive preparation to work an internship/co-op.
- It must be a maximum of 180 hours completed over the 15 weeks period.
