In order to retain talent, your organization must have a robust training and development program. In this project, students will apply current theory and practice for employee training and development within an organizational setting. Students will examine a full spectrum of training and development praxis, from basic on-the-job training to the use of technology and blended approaches to corporate training, development and succession planning. Upon completion of the project, you will receive a detailed report and presentation.
Learners
The final project deliverables might include:
- 10-15 minute presentation of key findings and recommendations.
- A detailed report including their research, analysis, insights, and recommendations.

Requirements
Beginning in January, students in groups of 3-5 will work with your company to identify your needs and provide actionable recommendations, based on their in-depth research and analysis.
Project activities might include but are not limited to:
- Describing organizational learning, individual learning, and motivation.
- Creating a position needs analysis and designing a training program.
- Examining and evaluating different options for delivering organizational and individual training.
- Evaluating organizational training programs and staff development.
- Discussing theory and practicing for management development.
- Comparing the costs and benefits of organizational training and development programs.
