The Art of the Interview: Engaging in Real-World Conversations

Roanoke College invites employers to collaborate with students enrolled in "The Art of the Interview," a course designed to develop essential interviewing skills and qualitative research techniques. Students will gain hands-on experience in crafting questions, conducting interviews, analyzing qualitative data, summarizing findings, and providing professional reports—all while applying ethical practices. By partnering with learners, employers can leverage fresh perspectives and creative insights that will benefit their projects. Employers are expected to maintain regular communication with students, provide guidance, and ensure that all relevant information is shared throughout the project. Additionally, employers should be virtually present during the final presentation to provide constructive feedback on the learners' work.

Learners will work on one main project over the experience of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Learners in this program/experience will combine marketing concept and techniques with their analytical / critical thinking skills to develop marketing objectives, strategies, and programs.

Learners in this program/experience will learn how health is related to all aspects of human life and how societies serve the health care needs of people. This is a capstone course for the public health studies major that includes an in-depth review and analysis of major themes within public health studies.
