Food has always been a part of Leonie’s culture, her way of showing love, and her way of nurturing. From the time she was one of three siblings growing up with a single mother, cooking and baking became something she absolutely loved and enjoyed. It was also a way for her to have one-on-one time with her busy mother. Leonie’s passion for providing delicious baked goods developed further in high school under the tutelage of her home economics teacher and grew further as she encountered the cooking of other cultures. Between high school and the founding of GLK, Leonie was always baking and giving pancakes, pancake mix, muffins, and cookies away to friends and family. Importantly, Leonie kept her recipes confidential, with the intention of commercializing them at some point.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION/DESCRIPTION DU PROJET: Students will develop a strategic marketing plan that shows our brand in a positive light to help increase brand awareness and generate new sales opportunities. Granny Lee’s Kitchen Limited is a home-based bakery serving the Greater Toronto Area. Our goal is to bring people together “for the LOVE of FAMILY and FOOD”. We love creating made from scratch, tasty, wholesome homemade baked goods that you can share at home, with friends, for your many celebrations and all your get-togethers. Our “made for you”: Muffins, Cookies, Gluten Free Treats, Pancakes and more are created using recipes that we have created and perfected over many years and we are currently in phase 2 of bringing some of these dry mixes to grocery store shelves.
