Portage College offers the Career Internship 1 course, a unique opportunity for second-year students to gain practical work experience in their field of study. Through this 100-hour work placement, students will apply classroom learning to real-world projects, enhancing their career readiness. The course also includes 30 hours of employment training to help students prepare for the workplace. As part of their learning, students will engage in tasks that help them build valuable professional skills such as communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Students in this program are highly motivated and eager to learn while contributing to meaningful work.
